Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited is seeking a Service Desk Engineer in the Birmingham area. The role combines remote support with on-site visits to client sites, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated within agreed SLAs.

The candidate should have MSP/IT consultancy experience and strong skills in Active Directory, MFA, Endpoint Manager, M365, SharePoint, Windows Server, WAN technologies, and networking. Car allowance and broader benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Experience in MSP or IT consultancy.
• Strong skills in Active Directory, MFA, Endpoint Manager, M365, SharePoint.
• Good Windows Server experience up to 2025.
• Knowledge of WAN technologies.
• Some experience with VMware/Hyper-V.
• Proficient in Windows and Exchange Server.
• Background in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
• Strong SLA management and ticket closure.

Responsibilities

• Provide first/second line support for clients.
• Resolve or escalate complex issues within SLAs.
• Maintain and improve SLA performance and ticket closure metrics.
• Occasional travel to customer sites as required.

Birmingham (hybrid) | £30,000-£40,000 + car allowance and wider benefits

I'm seeking an experienced Service Desk Engineer for a leading IT Service provider based in Birmingham. They are looking for someone with a good technical background across Infrastructure and Networking, supporting a variety of clients in the area. You will work primarily remotely, with some travel to customer sites, ensuring that IT problems are either resolved or escalated within the agreed SLAs.

The Service Desk Engineer will have experience in most of the following:

• MSP or IT Consultancy experience
• Good skills in Active Directory, MFA, Endpoint Manager, M365, SharePoint etc
• Good Windows Server experience up to 2025
• Knowledge of WAN Technologies
• Some experience with VMware/Hyper-V
• Skills with Windows and Exchange Server
• A background in Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANS etc)
• A strong background in maintaining SLAs and closing tickets
