Job Information

Title: Central Operations Lead (Options)

Salary: Up to £30,600 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications, not pro rata)

Location: Bolton, Hybrid (2 office days per week)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Role Overview

The Central Operations Team links central services and operational sites across the Acorn and Options divisions. Working with your allocated division you will focus on the following key areas:

Key Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Management – attend regular (ideally weekly) meetings with site leaders and key colleagues to understand barriers, gain feedback, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • School/Site Visits – develop relationships, widen understanding of sites, and provide feedback to the Head of Central Operations.
  • Central Directory – work with other Leads to keep the directory updated and publish monthly.
  • Integration & On‑boarding of new acquisitions – support new schools and businesses, deliver proactive support (hyper‑care), organise orientation days, collate FAQs, manage new SharePoint sites, and provide stakeholder management.
  • Operational Compliance – manage the flow of information, distribute or return compliance data, and ensure sites are compliant with key day‑to‑day activities.
  • Weekly Bulletin – copy‑edit, publish each week, manage deadlines and chase reminders for site submissions.
  • Operational Planner – coordinate central services requests to ensure efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Reporting – present performance to the Head of Central Operations via monthly dashboards and assist in dashboard design.
  • Operational Support Projects – assist with specific projects, coordinate with central services/systems owners, report progress, and provide ad‑hoc support.
What You’ll Do
  • Work proactively with central service leaders and operational site leaders.
  • Develop relationships to obtain inbound information, respond to queries or issues promptly.
  • Identify and report back trends, issues and improvement areas.
  • Contribute to team strategy and performance through regular meetings and 1‑1 development sessions.
  • Ensure clear communication of expectations and deliverables.
  • Support flexibility: two days in office, up to two days WFH, and one 4‑Day Working Week wellbeing day (subject to eligibility and priorities).
Qualifications & Skills
  • Stakeholder management experience delivering on relationship plans.
  • Excellent customer service and ability to meet central service/operational KPIs/SLAs.
  • Strong written communication with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ownership and initiative; full ownership of allocated division and proactive solution‑finding.
  • Performance reporting: deliver accurate reporting to line manager per deadlines/KPIs.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, providing regular feedback and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with flexibility to prioritise tasks.
  • Knowledge of key systems: Microsoft Office, Reach, XD, etc.
