Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Transport Service Coordinator in Exeter to manage daily service delivery, allocate work to vehicles and maintain strong communication with customers and drivers. The role emphasises safety, route optimisation and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment.

You will engage with frontline staff, conduct debriefs, address on-route issues and ensure adherence to WTD and transport licenses while supporting community-focused operations through Veolia’s values.

Qualifications

• Understanding of transport compliance and Work Time Directive (WTD).
• Strong communication with drivers, frontline staff and customers.
• Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at speed with a quality management system.
• IT skills and adaptability to Google apps.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of service delivery and dynamic allocation of work to vehicles/routes.
• Communicating with customers and stakeholders, providing status updates and maintaining driver contact.
• Completing debriefs with front line staff and reporting necessary actions or updates.
• Face-to-face engagement with drivers to address issues on route.
• Report safety concerns or container damage and stop the job if unsafe to continue.
• Ensure Veolia on-site compliance with WTD, O-licence and transport rules.

Transport Service Coordinator

Salary: £31,000 per annum plus Veolia benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Location: Exeter, EX2 8RF

What you'll be doing;

• Day-to-day management of service delivery, including the dynamic allocation of work to vehicles/routes
• Communicating with customers and stakeholders, providing status updates and maintaining contact with drivers
• Completing debriefs with front line staff and reporting necessary actions or updates as required
• Face-to-face engagement with drivers, supporting them to address any issues on route
• Reporting of all safety concerns or container damage and encouraging 'stop the job' if it is deemed unsafe to continue
• Ensuring Veolia legal compliance on-site (WTD, O'licence and transport compliance)

What we're looking for;

• Essential:
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of transport compliance and WTD
  • Good communication skills communicating with people of all levels including drivers, frontline employees and customers
  • Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at a fast pace Working with a quality management system e.g. ISO Managing transport compliance.
  • Experienced IT Skills, and the ability to adapt to Google operating systems
• Desirable:
  • Previous experience operating within a similar industry; waste/transport/logistics
