About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Service Charge Officer to join our Service Charges team in Croydon. Reporting to the Service Charge Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service to our service charge payers and stakeholders.
Based at either our Croydon or Sittingbourne office, this role is offered on a hybrid working basis (Tuesday to Thursday in the office, Monday and Friday from home).
Key Responsibilities
Accurately calculate, construct and issue both estimated and actualised service charges in line with legal and contractual obligations, with particular focus on complex cases.
Deliver an expert, customer-centric service, responding to resident queries and collaborating with internal teams to resolve complaints and disputes.
Prepare detailed service charge documentation and supporting evidence for First Tier Tribunal cases, and attend hearings as required.
Identify areas for improvement in service charge processes, driving continuous development.
Share expertise with colleagues and contribute to team resilience and the overall transformation of service charge delivery.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable individual with the following skills and experience:
Demonstrable experience in service charge analysis and a comprehensive understanding of residential and commercial service charge management, legislation, and best practice.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Proven experience working with councillors, community groups, and external partners.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of numerical and financial literacy.
A commitment to outstanding customer service.
