Job summary

FirstPort is seeking a Service Charge Accountant (Experienced Level) to join our Birmingham finance team. You will manage service charge accounts for residential and commercial properties, including budgeting, reconciliation and reporting, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

The role offers a permanent contract, standard hours, and the chance to contribute to our growing property management business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within Finance roles.
• Good knowledge and high attention to detail in financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (property management software is a plus).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining service charge cost estimates.
• Manage a portfolio of service charge accounts ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review financial statements for homeowners.
• Answer queries from key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
• Manage the annual service charge audit process and liaise with auditors for portfolio.
• Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and standards.
