Job summary

FirstPort in Birmingham is seeking a Service Charge Accountant (Entry Level) to join the Operations team. You will help manage service charge accounts for residential and commercial properties, assisting with budgeting, reconciliation and reporting.

The role offers accredited training, a supportive environment and clear opportunities to grow within a forward-looking UK residential property management company. Hours are 9-5, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; accounting software knowledge is a plus.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• A relevant accounting qualification (e.g. AAT) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining service charge cost estimates.
• Manage a portfolio of service charge accounts ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review financial statements for homeowners.
• Deliver to department metrics & support wider team.
