Job summary

FirstPort, a leading UK residential property management company in Exeter, invites applications for a Service Charge Accountant responsible for budgeting, reconciliation and reporting of service charge accounts for residential and commercial properties.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, deliver accurate financial data, and collaborate with Operations to streamline processes, while leveraging Excel and accounting software to analyse income and expenditure.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of service charge accounting and financial reporting.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all budgets are issued on time and of high quality.
• Deliver to department productivity metrics and support team goals.
• Analyse financial reports on income, expenditure, and balance sheet.
• Recommend actions by analysing data and performing comparisons.
• Assist in driving performance by analyzing deviations from forecasts/budgets.
• Communicate Service Charge Finance to Operations and stakeholders.
• Maintain clear communications with line manager and wider business.
• Take ownership of personal development and contribute ideas.
