Job description

We are looking to recruit a Service Assistant to join our Facilities Team at Ferndene.

This post will be offered as Full Time (37.5 hours per week).

Main duties of the job

1. Carrying out a range of cleaning tasks in areas such as offices, public areas such as corridors, and patient spaces like wards, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
2. Performing cleaning tasks including dusting walls, ceilings, curtain rails, polishing furniture and paintwork, hoovering carpets, and mopping floors.
3. Following instructions and routine work schedules, often working independently.
4. Working respectfully, caring, and compassionately alongside patients.
5. Using equipment and cleaning products safely, adhering to COSHH regulations.
6. Understanding and following infection prevention and control rules.
7. Completing paperwork such as quality checks and other documentation.
8. Assisting with cleaning audits, surveys, and inspections.
9. Carrying out general catering duties in kitchens and dining areas, including cleaning, washing utensils, and operating machinery like dishwashers and floor scrubbers.
10. Receiving and storing catering supplies properly, including assisting with packaging.

Pay: Band A (£12.36 per hour)

Additional pay: 25% enhancement for hours worked on weekends.
