Job description

Service Advisor (Bury St Edmunds)

Motorvogue are a forward-thinking company working with 14 brands across 6 locations: Fiat, Fiat Professional, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Renault, Dacia, CUPRA, SEAT, Hyundai, Isuzu, DS, Citroen and Peugeot. With showrooms in Northampton, Bedford, King’s Lynn, Norwich, and Bury St Edmunds. Our sixth site opened in Dunstable in April 2024. We continue to grow and develop moving forward.

Due to an internal promotion, we are now looking for an experienced Service Advisor for our Fiat, Abarth, Citroen and Peugeot Aftersales department.

About you

You will have:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • An ability to be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads
  • A positive attitude at all times and always lead by example

As a Service Advisor, your Key Objectives will include:

  • Maximising service profitability through the use of professional sales techniques
  • Sell additional products, services and repair works in a professional manner
  • Ensure customer awareness of all products and services available
  • Approach all customers and assist with requests, including requests regarding parts, vehicle sales and repairs
  • Maintain effective liaison with sales, parts and workshop teams
  • Ensure the tidiness of the reception desk to promote the professional image of the retail facility and that all displays / promotions, prices, materials etc are current and in first class condition.

You will ensure the highest level of customer care and satisfaction at all times:

  • Maintain a presence at the service reception desk, ensuring that all customer queries (whether in person or on the telephone) are answered or dealt with immediately
  • Answer customers questions regarding technical problems in a manner that is easily understood and does not use excessive jargon, or find the appropriate member of staff to do so
  • Pro-actively contact customers to update them on progress of work
  • Notify customers promptly of completion of work
  • Handle dissatisfied customers calmly and all customer complaints to be brought to the attention of the Service Manager

You will maintain excellent standards of departmental administration:

  • Follow correct procedure when issuing loan cars to customers, ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly and copies of customer’s driving licence are obtained (when applicable)
  • Document all warranty work as per manufacturer requirements and retail policy and ensure the customer signs for all work undertaken
  • Ensure compliance to all health and safety / environmental / company policies
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as requested by the front-of-house Service Manager

This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.

Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.
