Job summary

Perfect Placement is helping an established independent garage in Eastbourne recruit a Service Advisor. This role offers a competitive salary (£30,000–£35,000) with an OTE of £35,000, Monday–Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (40 hours), and a supportive team environment. You will be the main contact for customers, upsell services, coordinate with the workshop, and drive a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Service Advisor or similar role within the motor trade.
• Good knowledge of the automotive industry and servicing needs.
• Strong communication and empathetic customer care.
• Ability to upsell and proactively suggest additional services.
• Well organised with multitasking abilities.
• Experience with workshop management systems (TechMan preferred).

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for customers, providing excellent service and a proactive approach.
• Upsell additional services and motoring solutions during customer interactions.
• Deliver honest and empathetic communication, especially when conveying bad news.
• Liaise with the workshop team to ensure timely updates on vehicle status.
• Manage customer bookings and scheduling, keeping organiser systems up to date.
• Embrace transparency and learn new systems.
• Maintain organisation and attention to detail in a busy workshop environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Service Advisor or similar role within the motor trade
• Good knowledge of the automotive industry and common vehicle servicing needs
• Ability to upsell and proactively suggest additional servicesStrong communication skills, empathetic with customers, confident in delivering bad news
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Compassionate and friendly approach, with a proactive attitude towards customer care
• Experience with relevant workshop management systems (e.g., TechMan is preferred but not essential)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team
