Job summary

Sennies Ltd in Hampshire is seeking a compassionate caregiver to support a B2 child with Angelman syndrome, non-verbal and epilepsy well controlled. The role is live-out, hours Mon, Tue and Thu 8:00am–6:00pm up to 30 hours per week, start ASAP.

You should have experience supporting young children with disabilities, be confident reading cues and using Total Communication, and be comfortable lifting up to 13.5 kg and accompanying play and daily physiotherapy, OT and SALT activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young children with disabilities or complex needs, ideally Angelman syndrome or similar.
• Epilepsy experience desirable; calm and confident recognising and responding to brief seizures.
• Confident supporting a non-verbal child using cues, noises and body language; Total Communication approach.
• Physically able to lift up to 13.5 kg safely, including stairs.
• Willing to embed daily physio, OT and SALT practice into play per therapy team.
• Experience feeding a young child who needs help with finger foods and self-feeding.
• Enthusiastic, fun and engaging; family values enthusiasm as highly as experience.
• Full UK driving licence and own car for playgroups and outings.

Responsibilities

• Embed daily physiotherapy, occupational therapy and SALT activities into play.
• Support a non-verbal child by reading cues and using Total Communication.
• Assist with feeding and encourage finger foods and self-feeding.
• Transport to playgroups, activities and outings using own car.
• Ensure safety; lift and carry up to 13.5 kg as needed.
