Sennies Ltd is seeking a dedicated part-time after-school carer in Wimbledon Park to support a child with autism and SEN. The role is approximately 15 hours per week, with a schedule from 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and some extra hours during school holidays. Local travel by car is beneficial but not essential.

Start date ASAP, live-out arrangement, and a supportive wellbeing package offered. applicants should have 2+ years’ experience with SEN and autistic children, and be patient, energetic

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience supporting children with SEN.
• Experience supporting autistic children, including those with limited verbal communication.
• Friendly, patient and nurturing approach.
• Ability to plan engaging after-school activities.
• Vigilant and safety-conscious when supervising children in various settings.

Responsabilités

• Provide after-school care for G8 for approx 15 hours per week.
• Engage the child using play, modelling language and activities.
• Maintain open communication with parents and coordinate with the family.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing during community activities and outings.

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN; 2+ years' experience
• Experience supporting autistic children, ideally including children with communication and sensory needs
• Friendly, patient, and nurturing approach, particularly when supporting a child with limited verbal communication
• Energetic, proactive and creative, with the ability to plan engaging after-school activities while responding flexibly to G8's energy and regulation needs
• Vigilant, responsible and safety-conscious, particularly when supporting G8 outside the home and in the community
• Confident supporting G8's communication naturally through everyday interaction, play, modelling language, offering choices, singing and encouraging her to express her needs and preferences
• A strong communicator who will maintain open, regular communication with parents and work collaboratively with the family
