Job summary

Sennies Ltd is seeking a warm, patient live‑in carer to support a child with SEN near Godalming. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8am–11am and 3pm–8pm, with a private bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years SEN childcare experience, first aid, seizure awareness, and a clean UK driving licence with their own car. You will be discreet, emotionally intelligent, and comfortable around dogs. Start ASAP; flexible around surgery/recovery from November 2026.

Qualifications

• 2+ years SEN childcare experience and first aid training.
• Seizure awareness training with ability to follow emergency care plan.
• Experience supporting children with emotional regulation.
• Warm, emotionally intelligent and nurturing demeanor.
• Confident in full household duties: cooking, cleaning, laundry, organisation.
• Full, clean UK driving licence with own car.
• Flexible around surgery and recovery from November 2026.
• Discreet, sensitive to family dynamics and excellent communicator.
• Comfortable around animals; pets in the home.

Responsibilities

• Provide live-in care and supervision for a child with SEN needs.
• Prepare nutritious meals and manage household duties.
• Assist with errands, laundry, cleaning and organisation.
• Coordinate with Mum and follow care plans for medical needs.
• Support family routines around surgery/recovery period.

The family home is a beautiful, recently remodelled barn in a peaceful rural setting outside Godalming, with a spacious garden, adjoining woodland and a dedicated children's play area. A live-in Sennie would have their own bedroom and private bathroom on the ground floor, with the family's rooms upstairs.

• 2 years + SEN childcare experience and first aid training experience
• Seizure awareness training/experience — confident following an agreed emergency care plan (full training provided)
• Experience supporting children with emotional regulation and impulse control — patient and consistent
• Warm, emotionally intelligent and nurturing — the kind of person children feel instantly safe with
• Confident managing full household responsibilities: cooking nutritious meals, cleaning, laundry and organisation
• Full, clean UK driving licence with own car
• Flexible and adaptable — particularly around B7's surgery and recovery from November 2026
• Discreet, sensitive to family dynamics and excellent communicator — able to work closely with Mum
• Comfortable around animals — the family regularly visits grandparents who have multiple pets
