BARNET YOUTH ZONE in London is seeking a dedicated youth worker to lead activities and support a team of staff and volunteers at Unitas, Barnet Youth Zone in Edgware. The role focuses on creating welcoming spaces, delivering engaging programmes seven days a week, and building strong relationships with young people and partners.

You will bring substantial youth work experience, confidence to lead, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Substantial youth work experience.
• Experience leading activities and managing staff/volunteers.
• Experience with outreach in schools or communities.
• Budget management experience.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
• First aid/mental health first aid training is provided if needed.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver inclusive activities that help young people participate and progress.
• Act as Session Lead or Duty Manager to ensure sessions run smoothly and safely.
• Supervise and coach youth workers and volunteers.
• Build trusted relationships with young people, parents, carers and partner agencies.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and promote restorative approaches.
• Record outcomes and gather feedback to improve programmes.
• Support outreach in schools and community settings to engage more young people.
