Job summary

Manchester Youth Zone provides an opportunity for a Youth Work Manager - Seniors (11-14's) to lead universal sessions for young people aged 11-25. You will plan effectively and manage youth and play workers to deliver a range of engaging activities that nurture potential and growth, ensuring high programming standards.

The role requires a strong youth/play work background with management experience and a commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and data protection.

Qualifications

• Strong youth and/or play work background (qualified to at least Level 2).
• Management experience and a passion for driving excellence in all provisions.
• Ability to plan effectively and manage youth workers to deliver engaging activities.

Responsibilities

• Line manage direct reports through supervision and team meetings.
• Lead programming of open access sessions for ages 11-14 using the national youth work curriculum.
• Ensure all sessions are fully staffed to run safely and provide development activities.
• Lead a minimum of two sessions per week and participate in delivery on two more.
• Support HR to recruit and induct new staff members.
• Work with staff to implement behaviour management, safety plans and risk assessments.
• Collaborate to incorporate targeted activities into sessions and ensure data capture for planning.
• Provide high quality supervision and ensure adherence to MYZ policies on health, safety, safeguarding and data protection.
