Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Yard Manager for a leading manufacturing business in Desford. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will oversee gate-to-gate yard operations, drive safety, inventory accuracy and customer service, and lead a dedicated yard team.

You will champion continuous improvement, coordinate with production and logistics, manage stock control and dispatch, and implement efficient loading cycles while maintaining high housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in yard/logistics management.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety, compliance and operational best practice.
• Experience managing inventory, stock control and dispatch operations.
• Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all yard operations from gate to gate to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Champion health, safety and environmental culture and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee finished goods movement and optimise loading cycles and vehicle turnaround.
• Coach and develop the yard team, conducting appraisals and training needs.
• Maintain housekeeping, site organisation and access control.
• Review and improve yard processes for efficiency and service levels.
• Monitor yard costs and support capital projects.
• Collaborate with production and logistics to align yard with business objectives.
