Job summary

AXA XL in London seeks a Senior Underwriter for War, Terrorism & Political Violence to lead underwriting and risk assessment within our WTPV portfolio. You will manage renewals, develop new business, and deepen broker and client relationships to sustain profitable growth.

Reporting to the Head of WTPV, UK & Lloyd’s, the role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical rigor, and the ability to drive cross-market opportunities across AXA XL’s lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
• High and extensive level of technical knowledge and skills including product & industry.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as sales and marketing abilities.
• Ability to develop and understand business processes, strategy and planning.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, manage and service renewal books and produce new business within portfolio goals.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in risk analysis.
• Build and enhance relationships with brokers and clients; establish new distribution relationships.
• Monitor financial exposure and premium income within limits; ensure risks written are within maximum.
