Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Senior Underwriter in the Greater London area to manage and service a renewal book while developing new business. The role involves underwriting within delegated authority, building broker/client relationships, and contributing to product development opportunities.

You will report to the Underwriting Manager, Contingency, and support planning, forecasting, and pricing within risk limits.

Qualifications

• High and extensive level of technical underwriting knowledge and skills in Contingency insurance.
• Ability to apply business understanding to set direction within the segment or function.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, manage and service a renewal book and produce new business in line with unit goals.
• Develop and manage underwriting strategies for renewals and targets within portfolio.
• Exercise discretion and self-directed judgment in risk analysis.
• Mentor peers and provide leadership in risk assessment discussions.
