Job summary

AXA XL in London, within the UK International Property Practice, seeks an Underwriting Manager to lead high-profile UK and global property risks. You will manage complex accounts, guide brokers, and drive strategic growth while maintaining client relationships and AXA XL’s market presence.

You will travel as needed and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize profitability and ensure premium quality across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Significant technical underwriting experience with property and broker management.
• Proven leadership experience with teams in a corporate underwriting environment.
• Strong analytical, decision-making and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and underwriting systems.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite high profile UK/global accounts in line with guidelines and strategy.
• Lead underwriting operations within the property portfolio and drive profitability.
• Develop relationships with brokers, clients and reinsurers to secure business.
• Support cross-sell initiatives and collaborate with internal departments.
• Represent AXA XL at events and maintain market presence.
• Oversee submissions, policy wording, inspections, loss runs and financials.
