Job summary

Cadillac Formula 1 Team at Silverstone seeks an Senior Model Technician to prepare wind tunnel model parts, build complex assemblies and lead a small team in a high-precision environment. You will coordinate with design engineers and ensure safety standards are met.

Essential experience includes wind tunnel part preparation, advanced model-making in motorsport, and strong metrology know-how. Regular travel, including weekends, is required to support testing campaigns.

Qualifications

• Wind tunnel model parts prep and testing experience.
• High-level motorsport model-making experience (F1 preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical installations and assemblies.
• Experience with metrology equipment.
• Willingness to travel, including weekends.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Wind Tunnel parts/assemblies are manufactured to a high standard and deadlines.
• Carry out changes during Wind Tunnel testing programs; maintain model quality.
• Support Lead Model Technicians with workload and targets.
• Build large complex mechanical assemblies for the Wind Tunnel model.
• Diagnose and resolve technical challenges during testing.
• Collaborate with Model Design Engineers to improve model changes and quality.
• Mentor junior team members and uphold Health & Safety standards.
• Occasional travel, including to Germany, as required.
