This is a high-impact, highly visible role with the mandate to transform the website from a marketing channel into a genuine commercial growth driver. The Senior Web & SEO Manager will set an ambitious agenda for organic acquisition, push the platform and content standards ahead of competitors, and ensure the business is positioned to win as search itself evolves from traditional SEO to AI-driven discovery. • Act as the senior stakeholder for the CMS/platform, working with developers, agencies, and internal teams to prioritise the roadmap.
  • Own site information architecture, UX standards, and Core Web Vitals performance.
  • Input into integrations (CRM, lead capture, third-party feeds) from a web architecture and SEO-impact perspective.
  • Set and maintain web governance standards: page templates, URL structures, redirect policy, accessibility, and content QA.
Web Publishing

  • Define editorial and publishing workflows, ensuring content is published accurately, on-brand, and optimised for search and conversion.
  • Manage relationships with any web content editors, freelancers, or agency resource supporting publishing.
  • Ensure consistency of tone, structure, and metadata across the site.
  • Oversee QA processes for new pages and site changes (functionality, tracking, SEO tagging, broken links).

  • Own technical SEO across the site: crawlability, indexation, site speed, structured data/schema, mobile usability, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Conduct regular technical audits and manage remediation plans with developers/agencies.
  • Own local SEO and GEO (generative engine optimisation) implementation, including schema markup for local business listings.
  • Own the content SEO strategy: keyword research, content gap analysis, topic/page prioritisation, and on-page optimisation standards.
  • Work with content/marketing teams to brief and optimise landing pages, blog/guide content, and category/location pages for organic performance.
  • Define and maintain on-page SEO best practice (titles, meta, headings, internal linking).
  • Monitor and adapt strategy for evolving search behaviour, including AI-driven search.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
  • Own SEO and web performance reporting to senior stakeholders: organic traffic, rankings, conversion, technical health.
  • Set KPIs and targets for organic channel performance, and report against them regularly.
  • Use GA4, Search Console, and SEO tooling (e.g. SEMrush/Ahrefs/Screaming Frog) to monitor performance and identify opportunities.Translate technical SEO/web findings into clear, business-relevant recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with web development and SEO agencies/freelancers, ensuring delivery against brief, budget, and timeline.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for web/SEO matters across brand and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven senior-level experience owning website strategy and SEO (technical and content) for a brand or organisation, ideally with a sizeable site/content footprint.
  • Track record of leading SEO and web initiatives that delivered measurable organic performance outcomes.
  • Strong technical SEO expertise: crawl/indexation management, schema/structured data, Core Web Vitals, redirect strategy.
  • Experience managing CMS platforms and working with developers/agencies on web builds and ongoing maintenance.

  • Proactive risk management mindset: spots issues early and resolves them before they become blockers.
