Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our Water Team with opportunities to work across our UK offices in Birmingham, Chesterfield, Leeds and Manchester. The role offers flexible hybrid working and a chance to shape major water infrastructure projects.

You will design and review wastewater and water processes, perform hydraulic calculations, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and other disciplines to deliver high‑quality solutions that meet standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• Proven design experience in water and wastewater engineering deliverables.
• Chartered (or near Chartered) membership of a relevant institution.
• Experience managing projects and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Design and review process elements for water/wastewater projects, including site surveys and calculations.
• Coordinate across disciplines and engage with clients to deliver technical solutions.
• Support bids, develop designs from feasibility to construction, and ensure standards compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to digital tool adoption (BIM, ProjectWise, P&ID tooling).
• Produce calculations, drawings and technical reports in line with procedures.
