Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the South West and Wales Water team, with hybrid work flexibility (Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff). You will contribute to multi-billion-pound programmes across the UK water sector, delivering designs for pumping stations, water and wastewater projects and complex infrastructure through AMP8/AMP9.

You will produce feasibility and detailed designs, coordinate with civil, electrical and process engineers, and ensure technical quality within scope,

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering and working towards Chartered status.
• Knowledge of pump station design, piping, valves and hydraulics.
• Proven ability to deliver designs, drawings and calculations with precision.
• Hands-on delivery of water and wastewater engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Producing feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support.
• Producing design drawings, mechanical plant selection and specification.
• Liaising with water and other discipline teams nationwide.
• Delivering high-quality technical work within budget and schedule.
• Site visits for surveys and client liaison.
