Job summary

AECOM in Exeter, England, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Water to join our South West and Wales Water team, with flexibility to be based out of Exeter, Bristol or Cardiff. You’ll deliver multi-billion-pound programmes across the UK water sector and contribute from concept through delivery.

You’ll produce feasibility studies, designs, pumping station layouts and specifications, liaise with diverse teams, and support bids with a focus on sustainable water solutions.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience delivering water infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and client liaison.
• Ability to deliver design from inception to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Producing feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support.
• Producing design drawings, mechanical plant selection and specification.
• Liaising with water and other discipline teams nationwide.
• Delivering high-calibre technical quality, contributing to bids, interfacing with clients.
• Delivering to budget, programme and quality and supporting the project budget and programme.
• Design of mechanical installations including pumping stations, screens and valves.
• Site visits for site surveys and liaison with clients, contractors and suppliers.
• Producing plant layouts, specifications, datasheets and equipment schedules.
• Producing pumping station designs and headloss calculations.
