Job summary

AECOM in the UK is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from early study through delivery. You’ll work with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to shape solutions that meet regulatory and sustainability objectives.

The role offers hybrid working, opportunities to develop as a technical leader, and exposure to high-profile programmes across London and beyond, including asset investments, resilience and treatment upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in the water sector.
• Chartered or Incorporated with a relevant institution (e.g. ICE, CIWEM).
• Experience with engineering assessments, options appraisals, calculations or economic appraisals.
• Experience in outline and detailed design for water/wastewater schemes or related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists and specialists to deliver UK and overseas projects.
• Deliver feasibility studies, outline designs, detailed designs, reports and specifications.
• Undertake line management responsibilities for junior staff and perform performance evaluations.
• Ensure design compliance with applicable standards and regulations and provide technical analysis.
