Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking Senior Civil Engineers and Principal Civil Engineers to support the AMP8 water investment programme. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, deliver projects to budget and schedule, and shape innovative services for clients across the UK and internationally.

You will bring a Civil Engineering degree, Chartered status or clear progression, and strong client-facing communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered status or progression towards ICE/CIWEM membership.
• Experience in managing design teams of civil engineers and supporting disciplines.
• Delivery of projects to budget and schedule.
• Experience in checking or technical approval on linear civil engineering projects or industrial/process design.
• Mentoring or coaching junior civil engineers.
• Client-facing experience.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of all aspects of project delivery including health & safety, technical, quality, schedule and budget.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams.
• Shape service delivery and identify opportunities to deliver supplementary services from the wider WSP business in the UK and overseas.
• Build relationships with clients to ensure project outcomes and satisfaction.
• Contribute to innovative approaches and digital products.
• Support the Future Ready and Net Zero programme.
• Act as ambassador for best practice within the Asset Design team and client initiatives.
• Oversee bid preparation, resource and budget development.
• Line manage and mentor graduate engineers and degree apprentices.
• Contribute to recruitment and growth of the civil engineering team.
• Continue career development through technical, management and leadership growth.
