Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is recruiting experienced Civil Engineers to support the AMP8 water programme, delivering design across wastewater, water, sewerage and networks. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and abroad.

The role fosters mentoring, professional development and pathways to Chartership, with opportunities to lead and grow within a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered status, or progression towards ICE/CIWEM.
• Experience in managing engineering design teams.
• Experience in delivering projects to budget and schedule.
• Acted in a checking or technical approval role on civil projects.
• Experience mentoring junior civil engineers.
• Client-facing experience.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of project delivery including health & safety, technical quality, schedule and budget.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams.
• Shape service delivery and identify opportunities to add value for clients and the wider WSP group.
• Build relationships with clients to ensure outcomes and satisfaction.
• Contribute to innovative approaches, new services and digital products.
• Support Future Ready and Net Zero initiatives.
• Act as ambassador for best practice within the Asset Design team.
• Support bid preparation, resource and budget development.
• Line manage and develop graduate engineers and apprentices.
• Contribute to recruitment and growth of the civil engineering team.
• Continue professional development in technical, managerial and leadership skills.
