Job summary

Gateshead Health is seeking a Ward Manager to lead a busy medical ward, ensuring high quality, compassionate and safe care around the clock. You will guide a multidisciplinary team, aligned to evidence-based practice and local/national standards.

The role requires significant Band 6 experience, NMC registration, and a nursing leadership mindset to support ongoing service improvements within the NHS Trust.

Qualifications

• NMC registration and current nursing practice.
• RN Nursing degree or willingness to work toward.
• Leadership and Management qualification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the patient clinical journey along care pathways, using evidence based practice.
• Ensure efficient operational management of the ward and department.
• Lead with safety and compassion, in line with NMC Code and clinical governance.
