Job summary

Mersey West Lancashire NHS Trust is seeking a Band 7 Ward Manager for Ward 10A at Southport Hospital. The post leads a 25-bed Medical Ward specialising in elderly care, delivering high-quality, compassionate care with clinical leadership and staff development.

You will oversee clinical governance, budget, and staffing, with some out-of-hours clinical shifts and a dedicated focus on service development and patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Leadership and management experience in an acute NHS setting.
• Experience leading MDT and service development.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, management and team development to designated staff group with accountable clinical input.
• Lead and manage the ward, ensuring safe and effective service delivery and decision making.
• Ensure high quality care with robust records, budgeting, and policy adherence.
