Job summary

Soho House is seeking a Head Waiter for Soho Farmhouse, Hay Barn, to lead front-of-house service and supervise the restaurant team. You will greet members, take orders, coordinate with kitchen and bar, and ensure seamless, high-end service reflecting the club's standards.

You will bring 2–3 years in a high-end dining setting, strong wine knowledge, leadership, and outstanding communication to elevate every guest experience on the floor, while participating in ongoing training and events.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years in a similar high-end dining environment, with experience in a supervisory or senior waiter position
• Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a hands-on approach
• Confident, polished, and professional demeanour
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills
• Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet members, introduce menus, and ensure immediate engagement upon seating.
• Take accurate food and drink orders, accommodating any allergies or dietary needs.
• Deliver a seamless service by coordinating with kitchen and bar staff, ensuring timely and correct order delivery.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, including food and drink pairings.
• Maintain exceptional table service - top up water, wine, and beverages proactively throughout the member's stay.
• Ensure a pristine environment, including setting up and resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness at all times.
• Handle member requests and special accommodations with flexibility to create memorable, personalized experiences.
• Support seamless payment through card, the Soho House App, or House Pay.
• Uphold discretion and professionalism, especially when serving VIPs and PWKs.
• Lead and supervise the daily service on the restaurant floor, ensuring seamless and elevated guest experiences.
• Support and motivate the waitstaff team, offering training, coaching, and consistent feedback.
