Job summary

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation in Manchester seeks a Senior Vice President, DevOps Production Services to lead production application support for enterprise AI-based tools. You will manage monitoring, incidents, RCA, and release governance in a high-availability environment.

Responsibilities include log analysis with Splunk, SQL data validation, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and business teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in production application support for business-critical apps.
• Strong incident, problem, and change management processes knowledge.
• Advanced SQL skills for data validation, troubleshooting and analytics.
• Extensive experience with Splunk for log analysis, alerting, dashboards, and issue diagnosis.
• Strong Unix/Linux skills for server navigation, log reviews, and runtime support.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Grafana, others) and dashboard-based production support.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira) and ticket lifecycle management.
• Ability to analyze cross-system issues across distributed environments, on-prem or cloud.
• Experience supporting applications in cloud and/or on-prem environments.
• Scripting and troubleshooting middleware/interfaces; release support and governance knowledge.
• Strong communication to provide concise incident/status updates.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise applications to ensure stability and availability.
• Monitor health, performance, batch jobs, interfaces, and alerts using monitoring tools.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents within SLAs.
• Perform RCA for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes.
• Analyze logs, identify failure patterns, and build dashboards for proactive monitoring.
• Coordinate with dev, infra, DB, network, and business teams for issue resolution.
• Support deployments, change requests, and release validations.
• Maintain incident, problem, and change records in service management systems.
• Drive continuous service improvement through automation and process optimization.
• Participate in on-call and major incident management.
• Prepare operational reports and stakeholder communications.
• Write SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
