Job summary

Formula. is seeking a Global Head of Data to lead a large international data function and rebuild it around clear commercial outcomes.

You will own data end to end, covering platform, engineering, BI, data products and design, reporting into executive technology leadership. You will unify the data estate, deliver a trusted platform, and establish data products with owners, roadmaps and adoption measures to drive revenue, retention and forecasting.

A large international business is hiring a Global Head of Data to lead its data function and rebuild it around clear commercial outcomes.

The Global Head of Data will own data end to end, covering platform, engineering, BI, data product and design, and will report into executive technology leadership. The data estate is fragmented today. The job is to turn it into a trusted platform and a focused set of data products that the business actually uses.

What you’ll own

• The data strategy, set from the business problems back, balancing quick wins with long-term platform work.
• A modern, secure and cost-effective cloud data platform, from ingestion and modelling through to real-time data, APIs and observability, built to support analytics and AI workloads.
• Data products with clear owners, roadmaps and adoption measures.
• Customer data, analytics and personalisation capability that drives revenue, retention and lifetime value.
• A single, trusted set of enterprise KPIs, replacing manual and duplicated reporting and moving the executive team toward forecasting.
• The foundations for data science and AI at scale, with proper monitoring and value tracking.
• Practical governance across quality, privacy, security and responsible AI.
• Building a senior global team and managing delivery partners where they add value.

What you’ll bring as Global Head of Data

• Experience leading a data organisation at enterprise scale, ideally across multiple countries.
• A track record of building or modernising cloud data platforms, with the technical depth to make architecture and build, buy or partner decisions.
• Ownership of data engineering, data product, analytics and BI under one operating model.
• Clear evidence of commercial return on data investment.
• Experience setting up enterprise KPI and reporting foundations.
• A pragmatic approach to governance, privacy and responsible AI.
• The ability to work as a peer to commercial, operations, finance and technology executives.

Nice to have

• Background in a consumer-facing business, such as retail, financial services, telecoms, media or travel.
• Experience building personalisation and experimentation capability.
