Job summary

The ELLIS Group Architects Pty in London is seeking a Head of Data to guide the evolution of the organisation's data capabilities, drive platform strategy and engineering excellence. You will work with senior stakeholders to enhance data architecture, governance and reliability to enable advanced analytics and AI-powered outcomes.

In this role you will lead data teams, oversee platform performance and manage budgets to deliver measurable business value while ensuring scalable, secure data

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading enterprise data platforms, data engineering or data architecture.
• Strong knowledge of modern data technologies, including Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, BI tools and data integration solutions.
• Understanding of cloud engineering, DataOps, CI/CD, data governance, security and platform reliability.
• Experience with AI, machine learning and Generative AI, including governance needs for these tools.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and commercial skills with budget experience.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will enhance data architecture, improve governance and reliability, and enable advanced analytics and AI to deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the organisation's data strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology priorities.
• Oversee data platform architecture, engineering and operations, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and reliable.
• Drive improvements in data governance, quality and accessibility to support reporting, analytics and AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven innovation and business improvement.
• Manage data teams, technology partners, budgets and platform performance, ensuring effective delivery and value for money.

Skills Required:

• Proven experience leading enterprise data platforms, data engineering or data architecture.
• Strong knowledge of modern data technologies, including Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, BI tools and data integration solutions.
• Understanding of cloud engineering, DataOps, CI/CD, data governance, security and platform reliability.
