Job summary

IET Birmingham: Austin Court is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to run day-to-day venue operations, oversee event delivery, room setups, catering, facilities and AV, ensuring high service standards.

You will lead the Operations, Catering and AV teams, develop staff, drive continuous improvement and maintain health and safety compliance while delivering a memorable client experience.

Qualifications

• Experience leading operational teams in venue, hospitality, hotel or events.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate resources effectively.
• Strong people leadership and performance management skills.
• Customer-focused mindset with commercial awareness and delivery focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation and successful delivery of events at IET Birmingham: Austin Court.
• Manage and develop Operations, Catering and AV teams, including recruitment and training.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers to ensure professional service.
• Oversee venue operations: room set-ups, AV, facilities and maintenance coordination.
• Communicate with clients throughout the event lifecycle and resolve operational challenges.
• Ensure health and safety, fire safety and IET policy compliance; drive continuous improvement.
