Qualifications

Join JLR as a Senior Vehicle Integration & Test Engineer - ADAS and play a key role in supporting the development of the next generation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Working within the Vehicle Fleet Management team, you'll be responsible for building, commissioning, maintaining and supporting a fleet of prototype and development vehicles used to develop, test and validate cutting-edge ADAS technologies. This is a highly visible role where your work will directly enable engineering teams to bring future vehicle programmes to life.

As part of a small, specialist team, you'll collaborate with a wide range of internal engineering functions, test teams and external suppliers to ensure development vehicles, sensors, measurement equipment and vehicle computing systems are available, functioning correctly and ready for use. From vehicle integration and diagnostics to fault investigation and technical support, you'll be at the centre of ensuring engineering assets operate efficiently and effectively throughout the development lifecycle.

What To Expect

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including –

  • Build, commission and maintain a fleet of pre-production ADAS development vehicles and associated vehicle computing hardware to support engineering and testing activities
  • Serve as a key contact for product development teams, ensuring engineering assets are procured, configured, updated and modified to meet programme requirements
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams and stakeholders to coordinate the timely deployment, refresh and turnover of development vehicles and hardware, ensuring readiness for future projects
  • Provide technical support to internal teams, suppliers and external partners, acting as a trusted point of contact for both on-site and off-site engineering assets
  • Install, configure and maintain specialist measurement and data acquisition equipment, including sensors, logging systems and recording devices
  • Investigate technical issues using structured problem-solving methodologies, documenting findings and implementing solutions to maximise asset availability and minimise downtime
  • Support the management of vehicle booking, checkout and usage processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and validating user authorisations through internal systems
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, hardware updates, modifications and asset history, ensuring full compliance with corporate standards and governance requirements
What You’ll Need

We’re looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including –

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Proven experience within automotive engineering, vehicle development, testing, validation, integration or a similar technical environment. Candidates from other highly regulated industries, such as aerospace, will also be considered
  • Strong technical understanding of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), including experience with sensors, vehicle compute platforms, ECUs, actuators and associated vehicle technologies.
  • Experience working with ADAS measurement and data acquisition equipment, including sensors, logging systems and test instrumentation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate technical issues and deliver effective solutions using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone Analysis or similar root cause techniques
  • Knowledge of automotive networking, diagnostics and fault-finding techniques, with experience using industry-standard tools such as CANalyzer, CANape, Corvus, Vector tools or equivalent diagnostic platforms
  • Full driving licence with the ability to support vehicle testing and development activities as required
