Job summary
Mecalac Construction Equipment UK Ltd, part of the Fayat Group, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Coventry to lead electrical design from concept to production. You will own vehicle electrical architecture and interfaces, ensuring robust, manufacturable solutions and active supplier engagement.
The role covers design reviews, validation planning, and mentorship across the engineering team, with exposure to current projects and new model development in a hands-on environment.
Qualifications
- HND or Level 5 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Chartered Engineer status or membership preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design from concept to production with full documentation.
- Own vehicle electrical and electronic architecture and interfaces.
- Develop schematics, harness drawings, and system documentation.
- Define electrical system requirements, component selection, and protection.
- Lead design reviews and participate in design change processes.
- Support DVPs and validation at component and vehicle level.
- Collaborate with suppliers on technical requirements and approvals.
- Provide guidance to engineers, graduates and apprentices.
