Job summary

Leighton is seeking a UX/UI Designer to shape end-to-end digital experiences. You will combine user research with product data to identify opportunities and translate them into intuitive journeys, wireframes and high-fidelity interfaces.

You will work with Product, Research and Engineering in an Agile cross-functional team to deliver accessible, responsive designs across web and mobile. London-based hybrid role with on-site requirements two days a week.

Qualifications

• Strong experience across UX, Product or UI Design within digital products and services.
• Experience translating user research, testing, customer insight and data into practical design solutions.
• Proven ability creating customer journeys, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI designs and interactive prototypes.
• Advanced experience with Figma, including responsive web/mobile design and prototyping.
• Experience using and contributing to design systems, component libraries and reusable patterns.
• Strong understanding of accessibility, inclusive design and user-centred design principles.
• Comfortable working in Agile, cross-functional teams, collaborating with Product, Research and Engineering from discovery through to delivery.

UX & Product Design

• Own the design of end-to-end digital experiences, considering the complete customer journey rather than individual screens or features.
• Translate complex requirements into clear user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, interaction models and user flows.
• Take ideas from early concepts and sketches through to well-defined, intuitive digital experiences.
• Design with the wider ecosystem in mind, understanding how individual journeys connect across different products, services and digital channels.
• Work closely with Product, Research and Engineering teams to balance user needs, commercial priorities and technical feasibility.
• Use research insights, behavioural trends and product performance data to guide design decisions and prioritisation.
• Partner with Product Managers and Product Owners to identify opportunities, influence product direction and establish measures of success.
• Ensure experiences meet appropriate accessibility, usability and inclusive design standards.

UI Design & Prototyping

• Create high-fidelity interface designs and interactive prototypes in Figma, turning UX concepts into polished digital experiences.
• Use prototypes to explore different approaches, communicate interaction behaviour and test ideas before development.
• Design responsive experiences for web and mobile, considering different screen sizes, devices, platforms and accessibility needs.
• Refine designs through an iterative process, incorporating user testing, stakeholder input and feedback from development teams.
• Create and apply reusable components, interaction patterns and design standards that improve consistency across products.
• Contribute to the continued development and adoption of design systems and component libraries.
• Work closely with developers to make sure designs are practical to implement and that the finished product reflects the intended experience.
• Champion strong standards across visual design, interaction design, accessibility and overall design quality.

Collaboration & Ways of Working

• Work as part of a cross-functional product team, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Research and other Design specialists.
• Clearly communicate design thinking and rationale, using research, customer insight and data to support recommendations.
• Facilitate collaborative sessions and design discussions to explore problems, generate ideas and build alignment.
• Contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and problem definition through to design, validation and delivery.
• Help create a consistent customer experience across products by championing shared design principles, patterns and ways of working.
