Job summary

One YMCA Group in Hertfordshire is seeking a Senior Universal, SEND & Emerging Needs Practitioner to support high-quality universal, SEND and emerging needs services for families with children under 5. You will supervise staff and volunteers while delivering direct support, both face-to-face and online.

You will drive community engagement, develop workshops and information sessions, and build cross-agency partnerships to improve outcomes for children and families, including those with SEND.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in health, social care or early years (essential).
• Recognised SEND qualification (essential).
• Experience delivering parenting programmes (essential).
• Experience with children and families with SEND and multi-agency work.
• Experience supervising and developing staff, students or volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of Universal, SEND and Emerging Needs services for families with children under 5.
• Provide day-to-day supervision, support and planning for practitioners, students and volunteers.
• Develop understanding of local communities and co-design services to meet identified needs.
• Deliver one-to-one and group support, face-to-face and via digital platforms.
• Increase parent engagement in child development and learning, promoting co-production.
• Develop and deliver information, guidance, webinars, workshops and parenting sessions.
• Build partnerships across Health, Early Years, Social Care and other agencies.
