Underwriting across syndicated and company paper on a global scale our generalist book focuses on fine art, cash in transit, jewellers block and general specie. Your new role


  • Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the Business Plan and the personal authority to meet business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues, to maximise influence
  • Report on an ad hoc basis regarding pipelines, new opportunities, and progress towards strategic goals
  • Participate fully and use your expertise to shape and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice
  • Positively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximise brand leverage
  • Perform all necessary travel, as required, for broker development and update product or underwriting knowledge.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency
  • Actively keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to be able to operate effectively and appropriately
  • Ensure clear and prompt communication to UA’s in relation to Underwriting and aggregate exposures ensuring entries on EO systems are accurate



About You


  • Ability to quote new and renewal business in some or all of the four risk codes
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and open communication style of working
  • The ability to influence actions and attitudes of others through leading by example
  • Good negotiating skills, innovative in underwriting approach and programme design
  • Skills in Microsoft office suite applications (outlook, word, excel and Powerpoint)
