The ideal candidate is an FI/D&O Underwriting professional with strong experience in this area. The company focuses on the SME - Mid Market region and writes business globally. They are looking for someone who can focus on both new business and renewals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Underwriting & Risk Assessment: Underwrite and negotiate D&O and FI accounts, ensuring risk quality aligns with company strategy and within authority.
2. Business Development: Drive new business and maintain broker relationships, achieving targets for Gross Written Premium (GWP).
3. Portfolio Ownership: Take accountability for underwriting decisions and the development and profitability of your book.
4. Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, insurers, and clients, including travel and entertainment as needed.
5. Client Meetings: Facilitate reciprocal visits and participate actively in meetings, leading where appropriate.
6. Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with legislation, agreements, and industry standards.
7. Market Awareness: Keep informed about market conditions in SME and mid-market D&O and FI segments.
8. Strategic Contribution: Collaborate with leadership on the strategic plan, seek new markets, and identify growth opportunities.
9. Team Leadership & Development: Mentor junior underwriters, support complex cases, and develop underwriting processes.
10. Risk Management: Conduct activities in compliance with FCA regulations, maintain documentation, and adhere to risk practices.
