Position Overview

We are recruiting for a leading Lloyd's MGA seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their growing FI team in the City of London. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in FI/D&O underwriting, focusing on SME to Mid Market regions, handling global business, with responsibilities including new business acquisition and renewals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Underwriting & Risk Assessment: Underwrite and negotiate D&O and FI accounts, ensuring risk quality aligns with company strategy and within authority limits.
2. Business Development: Drive new business and maintain broker relationships, achieving targets for Gross Written Premium (GWP).
3. Portfolio Ownership: Take accountability for underwriting decisions and the profitability of your portfolio.
4. Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, insurers, and clients, including travel and entertainment as necessary.
5. Client Engagement: Lead and participate in client meetings, fostering reciprocal visits and interactions.
6. Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with legislation, agreements, and industry standards.
7. Market Awareness: Keep informed on market conditions, especially in SME and mid-market segments for D&O and FI.
8. Strategic Contribution: Support strategic planning, identify new markets, and contribute to growth initiatives.
9. Team Leadership & Development: Mentor junior underwriters, support team development, and refine underwriting processes.
10. Risk Management: Maintain compliance with FCA regulations and internal risk practices, ensuring accurate documentation.
