The Senior Bridging Underwriter Role

You’ll take ownership of complex bridging finance cases from start to finish. This is a senior underwriting position with real influence—you’ll be working on deals up to (and above) £10m, liaising directly with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and internal teams to ensure deals are assessed thoroughly, quickly, and efficiently.

You’ll be expected to operate under mandate and structure loans across a variety of asset types—prime residential, luxury property, mixed-use, and some light development or refurbishment projects. If you’ve had exposure to development finance underwriting, even better.

• Underwrite bridging finance cases from initial assessment through to completion
• Structure and recommend deals within mandate, balancing risk and commercial return
• Liaise with brokers, solicitors, valuers and internal teams to keep the deal moving
• Assess creditworthiness, carry out due diligence and analyse exit strategies
• Attend credit committee and present cases (where required)
• Maintain excellent working knowledge of property market trends and regulations
• Support junior members of the team and contribute to continuous process improvement

Senior Bridging Underwriter Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in bridging finance underwriting
• Confident operating under a personal mandate and structuring bespoke deals

• Exposure to development finance underwriting is desirable but not essential
• Excellent communication, analytical, and commercial judgement skills
