Job summary

Vivo Talent is seeking a Senior Bridging & Development Underwriter in Hertfordshire to lead end-to-end bridging and specialist finance underwriting. You will underwrite cases in line with lending policy and sign off at credit committee, shaping the journey from enquiry to completion.

You’ll monitor risk as cases progress, collaborate with brokers, solicitors and valuers to maintain service levels, and mentor junior underwriters and loan coordinators while shaping policy and processes for a

Qualifications

• 4+ years bridging or specialist finance underwriting.
• Strong grasp of mortgage regulatory requirements.
• CeMAP desirable.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite bridging and commercial cases end to end in line with lending policy.
• Sign cases off at credit committee after detailed review.
• Assess risk continually as each case progresses and request funding as needed.
• Collaborate with brokers, solicitors and valuers to maintain high service levels.
• Mentor junior underwriters and loan coordinators.
• Support sales with new loan enquiries and update the team on pipeline.
• Identify opportunities to improve policy and process without lowering standards.

What you'll do

• Underwrite bridging and commercial cases end to end, in line with lending policy
• Take on the complex transactions and sign cases off at credit committee
• Assess risk continually as each case develops and request funding as it nears completion
• Work closely with brokers, solicitors and valuers to keep service levels high
• Mentor junior underwriters and loan coordinators
• Support sales with new loan enquiries and keep the team updated on the pipeline
• Look for ways to improve policy and process without dropping standards

What you'll bring
