Placements24 seeks a Mine Planning Engineer for a hybrid role in Randburg, Gauteng. You will develop short- and medium-term underground mine plans, optimize layouts and schedules, and ensure safety and environmental compliance across projects.

You will collaborate with geology, survey and operations teams, produce technical reports, and guide plan implementation to maximize profitability.

Qualificações

• BSc or BEng in Mining Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years in underground mine planning and design.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan or Datamine.

Responsabilidades

• Develop short-term (3–6 months) and medium-term (1–3 years) mine plans for underground operations.
• Optimize mine layouts, production schedules, and stope designs to maximize ore recovery and minimize costs.
• Conduct mine design studies and feasibility assessments for new developments or modifications.
• Generate haulage profiles, ventilation requirements, and equipment utilization plans.
• Collaborate with geology, survey, and operations teams to ensure integration of plans.
• Perform volumetric calculations and reconcile production against plans.
• Utilize mine planning software for modeling and scheduling.
• Ensure all mine plans comply with safety regulations and environmental requirements.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on mine planning activities.
• Support the implementation of mine plans and troubleshoot any deviations.
