Job summary

Travel Trade Recruitment in Surrey is seeking a Senior Travel Consultant to design and book tailor-made holidays, flights, hotels, tours and other travel arrangements. You will handle complex itineraries, advise customers from enquiry through to return home, and build strong relationships in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires extensive destination knowledge, excellent customer service, and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Travel Agent, Travel Consultant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of travel destinations, products and booking processes.
• Experience selling holidays, flights and/or tailor-made travel.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to build rapport and understand customers' needs.
• Strong sales and negotiation skills with a commercial mindset.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confident handling complex bookings and resolving problems.
• Positive, professional and proactive approach.
• Ability to work independently and support the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage travel enquiries from initial consultation through to booking and post-sale support.
• Design and book bespoke holidays and complex itineraries tailored to individual customer requirements.
• Provide expert advice on destinations, flights, accommodation, transfers, tours and travel experiences.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
• Maximise sales opportunities while delivering a genuinely personalised service.
• Handle amendments, cancellations and travel issues professionally.
• Keep up to date with destinations, trends, products and promotions.
• Collaborate with suppliers, hotels, airlines, tour operators and partners.
• Mentor junior team members with knowledge sharing.
• Strive to consistently exceed sales targets.
• Ensure bookings are accurate and compliant with procedures and regulations.
