Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking a Senior Technician to join the Transport Programmes team. You will provide technical support to Senior and Principal Transport Planners and help deliver a varied transport programme.

Hybrid working is offered, with two to three office days per week. The role involves data analysis, research, reporting and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities to lead small projects and contribute to major transport and infrastructure work.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning, infrastructure or project delivery.
• Experience contributing to the delivery of transport or infrastructure projects.
• Experience helping to monitor budgets, contribute to business cases or support funding bids.

Responsibilities

This Senior Technician post sits in the Transport Programmes team at Sheffield City Council, supporting the Senior and Principal Transport Planners who run the council's transport programme. The work centres on research, data analysis, reports and consultation for schemes covering active travel, public transport corridors, road safety, traffic management, electric vehicle infrastructure and regeneration.
