Amey Consulting seeks a Principal Transport Planner to lead our Transport Planning team in Birmingham with a remit across the UK and beyond. You will guide development planning, transport assessments and travel planning, while mentoring junior staff and building client relationships.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration with public sector clients under major frameworks, across hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading transport planning teams in a large consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Transport Planning team, fostering excellence and collaboration.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to winning new projects.
• Oversee delivery of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and development-control work.
• Mentor team members and drive innovation within the practice.
• Ensure projects meet timelines, budget and quality requirements.
• Engage with stakeholders and partner organizations across the UK.
