Job summary

Amey is seeking a Principal Transport Planner to lead development planning and shape innovative transport solutions from our Birmingham base. The role supports UK and international frameworks, guiding the transport planning team and collaborating with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to deliver complex projects.

You will drive growth, manage performance, and mentor staff while championing sustainability, safety and efficiency across public sector programmes and major frameworks.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in transport planning or a related field.
• Masters degree and chartered status are preferred.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management across multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Transport Planning team and drive excellence.
• Build client relationships and contribute to winning new projects.
• Oversee delivery of projects to time and budget with high-quality outputs.
• Mentor team members and foster collaboration.
• Drive innovation and stay abreast of industry trends.
