Job summary

AECOM are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Development Planning and Management Team in the South East, based in London or nearby offices, to work on Spatial Planning contracts and provide development management advice for SRN projects.

The role emphasizes client engagement, technical review of transport assessments, mentoring juniors, and delivering high-quality outputs within budget and schedule. Hybrid working options and career development are offered.

Qualifications

Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Spatial/Urban Planning, or related field.
Membership of a professional body such as CIHT, TPS or CILT.
Excellent team working, written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Awareness/ knowledge of transport planning principles, policies, and regulations in the UK.
Experience in mentoring junior staff.
Experience in transport modelling (local, and ideally strategic).
Proficiency in commonly used transport planning tools and MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Review transport planning documentation for SRN impact and provide peer reviews.
Mentor junior staff and manage workloads.
Engage with client teams and stakeholders to maintain relationships.
Prepare technical notes and critically review calculations and documents.
Ensure deliverables meet quality, budget, and timelines.
