Job summary

BWB Consulting Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Transport Planner or Senior Engineer to deliver high‑impact transport projects for public and private clients. You’ll lead technical workstreams, partner with planners, architects and project partners, and take ownership from concept to delivery.

You’ll grow within a collaborative team, manage budgets and KPIs, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in engineering, geography or mathematics.
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
• Experience with junction capacity tools such as Junctions 11 and LinSig; network modelling knowledge is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to lead defined workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Transport Assessments and Statements, Travel Plans, masterplans, traffic engineering schemes and technical reports for planning applications and transport projects.
• Work closely with colleagues, clients, architects, planners and project partners from concept to delivery.
• Apply key standards and guidance (DMRB, Traffic Modelling Guidelines, Manual for Streets, local authority design guides).
• Support fee proposals and help deliver projects to budget and KPIs.
• Represent projects in meetings and negotiations with local authorities and regulatory bodies.
